'Manasula' from Vetrimaaran's Viduthalai Part 2 is out

The lyrical video for 'Manasula' was published on Wednesday by the producers of Vetrimaaran's forthcoming social drama, Viduthalai Part 2. Ilaiyaraaja wrote and composed the melodic duet number "Manasula," which features vocals by Ananya Bhat and Sanjay Subrahmanyan.

The trailer and audio for the movie were unveiled during an event in Chennai. The character of Perumal Vaathiyar (Vijay Sethupathi), his upbringing, his career as a head of a workers' organization, and his eventual transformation into a left-wing brigand—the government's worst fear—were the main topics of the teaser film. The trailer is split between flashback scenes of Perumal and the police department's current manhunt, which also stars Kumaresan (Soori). Throughout the more than two-and-a-half-minute preview, strong statements like "Kolgai Illadha Thalaivan, Rasigana Dhaan Uruvakkuvaan" are also abundant. "A leader without an ideology will only create fans, and that would not pave the way for any beneficial development," says Adhu Munnetrathukku Vazhi Vagukkadhu.

While most of the second part had been shot during the production of the first part itself, the remainder of the filming and an extensive postproduction did not permit an immediate release after Part 1's success. The following actors will return to their roles in Viduthalai Part 2: Soori, Vijay Sethupathi, Manju Warrier, Chethan, Bhavani Sre, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Rajiv Menon, Ilavarasu, Balaji Sakthivel, Saravana Subbiah, and Munnar Ramesh.

On the technical team, the film has music composed by Ilaiyaraaja, cinematography handled by R Velraj, and editing by R Ramar. It is produced by Elred Kumar under the RS Infotainment banner and Vetrimaaran's Grass Root Film Company. The films were earlier screened at the Rotterdam Film Festival. Viduthalai Part 2 will release in theatres on December 20.
