1. Indian Institute of Technology(IIT), Kanpur :

IIT Kanpur was established by an Act of Parliament in 1959. The institute was established in December 1959 in a room in the canteen building of the Harcourt Butler Technological Institute at Agricultural Gardens in Kanpur. In 1963, the institute shifted to its present location, on the Grand Trunk Road which is near to the village of Kalyanpur in Kanpur district.
IIT Kanpur is located on the Grand Trunk Road, 15 kms (9.3 mi) west of Kanpur City and measures close to 420 hectares (1,000 acres). This land was donated by the Government of Uttar Pradesh in 1960 and by March 1963 the Institute had moved to its current location.
The institute has around 5000 students with 3,500 undergraduate students and 2000 postgraduate students.
IIT Kanpur has Eleven boys’ hostels, Two girls’ hostels and one girls’ residence tower all together called the ‘Halls of Residence’

The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (abbreviated IIT Delhi or IITD) is a public research university situated in Delhi, India. It was said to be Institute of National Importance by Government of India under IIT Act
IIT Delhi is located in Hauz Khas, South Delhi. The campus of 325 acres (132 ha) is surrounded by the beautiful Hauz Khas area and monuments such as the Qutub Minar and Lotus Temple. The campus is also very near to other educational institutions such as the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), (AIIMS) All India Institute of Medical Sciences, (NIFT) National Institute of Fashion Technology, (NCERT) National Council of Educational Research and Training and Indian Statistical Institute.
There are 13 hostels. There are also blocks for married students. All the hostels are have the names of mountain ranges in India.

3.Indian Institute of Technology(IIT), Bombay ;


The Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (abbreviated IITB or IIT Bombay) is a public engineering institution, It’s campus is situated in Powai, a suburb in north east Mumbai, between the Vihar and Powai lakes. It is the second-oldest institute of the Indian Institutes of Technology system. IIT Bombay was established in 1958.
IIT Bombay has a total of 14 academic departments, six centers, one school, and three interdisciplinary programmes. Over the last 53 years, around 39,000 engineers and scientists have graduated from the institute. All department annexes are connected by a corridor named Infinite Corridor. Beyond the Convocation Hall lie most of the hostels. There are a total of 15 hostels, of which two hostels (Hostels 10 and 11) and a part of the newly constructed hostel (Hostel 15) are for female students.
The institute has 2 swimming pools; a football, hockey & cricket grounds; and tennis, basketball, squash & volleyball courts. It also has a Students’ Activity Center (SAC) for various cultural and other extracurricular activities. Apart from these facilities, the campus also houses 2 high schools, one of which is a Kendriya Vidyalaya and the other is called IIT Campus School.

4.Indian Institute of Technology(IIT), Kharagpur :

IIT Kharagpur is located 120 kilometres (75 mi) west of Kolkata. The campus is situated 5 kmsaway from Kharagpur’s railway station. The 8.5 square kms (2,100 acres) campus is residence to about 20k inhabitants. In 2006, IIT Kharagpur had about 470 faculty members, 2k employees and approximately 5000 students living on the campus. The campus has a total of 55 kms of roadways. The Institute plans to go Green by 2020.
 The Jnan Ghosh stadium and Tata Sports Complex host large-scale sports competitions. The Tagore Open Air Theatre has a capacity of 3k people, and is used to host cultural programs
According to IT magazine Dataquest’s annual survey, IIT Kharagpur is the second best technology college in terms of placement in India. For 2013 batch, Three students have bagged salaries of INR8 million (US$130,000) a year while eight others have got offers of INR7.5 million (US$120,000) from Google, Facebook and Microsoft. For 2014 batch, the highest package, offered to a student stands at around INR9 million (US$150,000) from Google.

The campus is located 10 km from the Chennai Airport, 12 km from the Chennai Central Railway station, and is well connected by buses.
IIT Madras provides residential accommodation for its students, faculty, administrative and supporting staff, and their families. The residential houses employ private caterers. The self-contained campus includes two schools (Vanavani and Kendriya Vidyalaya), three temples (Jalakanteshwara, Durga Peliamman and Ganapathi temple), three bank branches (SBI, ICICI, Canara Bank), a hospital, shopping centers, food shops, a gym, a swimming pool, cricket, football, hockey and badminton stadiums. Internet is available in the academic zone and the faculty and staff residential zone. Internet is available in the hostel zone from 2:00 pm till midnight and from 5:00 am to 8:00 am

Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (commonly known as IIT Roorkee or IITR), is a public university situated in Roorkee, Uttarakhand, India. Established in 1847, it was given university status in 1949 and was converted into an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in 2001, thus becoming the seventh IIT to be declared.
The main campus in Roorkee has an area of 365 acres (1,480,000 m2). IIT Roorkee has a campus of 25 acres (100,000 m2) in Saharanpur which offers courses in Polymer Science, Process Engineering and Paper Technology. In addition to this, a new ten-acre campus has been established in Greater Noida, Knowledge Park II, which was inaugurated on April 4, 2011. The Noida extension centre has 16 lecture rooms, software laboratories, faculty offices, a library and a computer centre
The IIT Roorkee has 18 academic departments covering Engineering, Applied Sciences, Humanities & Social Sciences and Management programs with a strong emphasis on scientific and technological education and research.

Indian Institute of Technology (BHU), Varanasi (commonly known as IIT (BHU), Varanasi) is a public engineering institution situated in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India. Established in 1919, it was designated an Indian Institute of Technology in 2012. IIT(BHU),Varanasi has 13 departments and three inter-disciplinary schools.
IIT(BHU),Varanasi has a residential and co-educational campus built on an area of 400 acres within the larger BHU campus which is spread over nearly 1,300 acres (5.3 km2) at the southern end of Varanasi on the banks of the River Ganges
IIT (BHU) has 17 academic units including Ten Engineering Departments, Three Science Departments, three Interdisciplinary Schools and one Humanities & Social Sciences Section.
IIT (BHU) Varanasi provides on-campus housing to students, research scholars and faculty members. Students are required to live in one of the 14 hostels throughout their stay at the institute. There are eleven hostels for male students, two for females and one married hostel. The Student’s Gymkhana popularly called King’s Pavilion functions through 4 Councils namely, the Cultural Council, the Science and Technology Council, the Films and Media Council and the Sports Council.

8.Birla Institute of Technology and Science(BITS), Pilani :

The Birla Institute of Technology & Science is an Indian institute of higher education and a deemed to be university under Section 3 of the UGC Act. The university has 15 academic departments, and focuses primarily on undergraduate education in engineering and the sciences.The institute was established in its present form in 1964.BITS has established centres at Goa, Hyderabad and Dubai.
BITS administers the all-India computerized competitive entrance examination, BITSAT (BITS Admission Test), Admission is merit-based, as assessed by the BITSAT examination. The fully residential institute is privately supported. Pilani is located 220 kilometres (140 mi) west of Delhi and 217 kilometres (135 mi) north of Jaipur; the BITS campus is south of the bus stand.

9.National Institute of Technology(NIT), Warangal :

National Institute of Technology, Warangal is situated on either side of Hyderabad – Warangal highway at a distance of 3 km from Kazipet Railway Station and 12 km from Warangal Railway Station. Warangal is a town situated 148 km north of Hyderabad. Formerly known as the Regional Engineering College, Warangal (RECW), it is the first among the 17 Regional Engineering Colleges established in India and the institute’s foundation stone was laid in 1959 by the then Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. The institute was renamed as the National Institute of Technology, Warangal in September, 2002.
In campus hostels are refereed to as Hall of residences and there are about 14 halls for Boys, 2 for girls and 1 for International Students. Recently, 4 new multi storey blocks have been constructed namely 1K Hall of Residence, Ultra Mega Hostel, International Students Hall, New Ladies hostel.
The campus has seven messes for boys which include two institute food courts namely IFC-A and IFC-B, one mess exclusively for girls. Hostel rooms are provided with internet facility for every student. WiFi connectivity is also present in most of the hostels as well as the academic blocks. The International meets, conferences and student activities are held in Abdul Kalam Hall, New Seminar Hall, New Conference Hall and the Auditorium.

10.Indian Institute of Technology(IIT), Guwahati :

Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati, situated in Guwahati, in the state of Assam in India. It is the 6th Indian Institute of Technology established in India. IITG was formed in 1994 by an act of parliament and its academic programme commenced in 1995. IITG admitted its first batch of students into its Bachelor of Technology programme in 1995. The selection process was the same as that of all IITs, i.e., through the Joint Entrance Examination. Presently there are about 4,000 students (2058 undergraduate and 1890 postgraduate) on rolls, 215 faculty members and 300 support staff.

IITG is home to six centres of research.
