KL Rahul, on Friday (January 30), joined Nimbalkar in the elite list of 28 cricketers to have made a triple century in the history of Ranji Trophy.
Rahul's 337 was made over 671 minutes; Vijay Hazare, the first triple-centurion in Ranji, had taken 387 minutes for his unbeaten 316 for Maharashtra against Baroda in January 1940. The record was broken four seasons later when Vijay Merchant, playing for Mumbai, made an undefeated 359 in a drawn encounter against Maharashtra
